In the name of God amen, I Mary Quayle of the parish of KK Michael being in perfect health and of sound, memory and understanding do make this my last will and testament in form and manner following viz
First I commend my soul to God and my body to Christian burial
I leave to my son John Quayle the sum of five shillings
Also I leave to my son William Quayle the sum of five pounds
Also I leave to my son Thomas Quayle the sum of ten pounds
Also I leave to my daughter Margaret wife of William Brew the sum of ten pounds
I leave to my daughter Elizabeth Quayle my share of a meadow being part of the quarterland of Ballameanaugh in MIchael ajoining the rent of Thomas Cottier on the east, south and west, and the rent of Catherine Cannell and ... Cannell on the north the same being purchased land
Also I leave to my said daughter Elizabeth Quayle all my share of the purchased land commonly called the Coold arrey adjoining the old road on the west and the rent of Mr Thomas Carran on the north and the rent of John Corlett and William Quayle on the east, and the rent of John Quayle on the south
Also I leave to my three grandchildren, daughters of Margaret Brew, namely Margaret Barrie, Esther and Elizabeth Brew the sum of five pounds each, the forementioned sum to be British money
Also I do make, ordain, constitute and appoint my daughter Elizabeth Quayle whole and sole executor of all my goods and chattels and effects of what kind and nature soever, ratifying this and no other to be my last will and testament, cutting off all claimants with one shilling legacy this the 29th day of October 1838. At a Chapter Court held at Kirk Michael 15th June 1843 The executrix is sworn in Court in form of law and has given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely Philip Quiggin of Ballashoghage and John Cannell of Ballacarnane both of the parish of Michael. Thomas Quayle a legatee in the foregoing will named appeared at the Registry acknowledges to have received and been paid the legacy bequeathed to him in said will and he hereby exonerates, discharges and acquits the executrix, her administrators, executors and assigns of the same and of every part thereof. Margaret Barry widow a legatee in the foregoing will named appeared at the Registry and acknowledged to have received and been paid the legacy of five pounds British bequeathed her by said will. At the same time appeared Martha Brew a legatee named in said will and acknowledged to have received and been paid her legacy of five pounds British bequeathed her in and by said will. Also appeared Elizabeth Brew a legatee named in said will and acknkowledged to have received and been paid her legacy of five pounds British bequeathed her in and by said will. And they the said Margaret Barry, Martha Brew and Elizabeth Brew grandchildren of the testatrix do hereby severally exonerate acquit and discharge the executrix Elizabeth Quayle, her executors, administrators and assigns of the same and of every part thereof. - This is the widow of John Quayle whom she married 11th July 1786, Michael
- His burial listed him as 95 years of age, so born c1742 (a late marrier or a second marriage?)
- Children nominated in her will - Margaret 1787, John 1789, Elizabeth 1791, WiIliam 1793-1794, 1795, Thomas 1801
- Her husband's will also nominates a daughter named Jane which tends to indicate that Mary was John's second wife
- Elizabeth Quayle was her mother's executrix in 1843. She remained with her mother then lived with her niece Margaret Mylrea als Barrie als Brew at Cronk Urleigh until her death in 1877
- Margaret Barrie als Brew, one of the legatees, married John Mylrea in 1846
